Servant Leadership Opportunities at First United Methodist Church
Administrative Board: This group is the official and legal decision making group of the church. It is made up of committee chairs, small group leaders, and at large members.
Missions: This group facilitates the many missions of the church such as Interfaith Hospitality Network, support of the local food pantries, special mission offerings, etc.
Stewardship: This team helps us connect the financial needs of the church with the spiritual reasons we give and the mission and vision of the church.
Finance: This group oversees and reports on the finances of the church and sets the budget each year.
Worship: This group cares for the details of worship such as flowers and seasonal decorations as well as gives direction to the nature and style of our worship.
Christian Education: This team helps with Sunday School, VBS, and our youth groups.
Trustees: This group oversees the maintenance of church property.
Invitation: This group reaches out to the community and invites others to come and be a part of our church.
Connection: This group welcomes those who come through our church doors and seeks to help them become a part of our church family.
Communications: This group works to share what’s going on through our church with others in our community.
Fellowship and Family Life: This group makes sure that we have refreshments during the fellowship time on Sunday mornings. It also provides opportunities for our church family to come together throughout the year such as the chili cook-off and the Easter party.
Loaves & Fishes: This group provides meals for those recovering from surgery or going through a difficult time.
Funeral Meals: This group provides a meal at the church following a funeral to give family and friends a place to gather and support one another.
Medical Driver Ministry: This group provides transportation to and from doctor’s appointments for those who can not drive themselves.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: This group knits, crochets or sews lap blankets as a form of prayer. These blankets are taken to church members and others as a sign of our prayers for them.
Greeters: This groups welcomes people each weekend for worship and other church events.
