One Adult Bible Study Has a New Name

The Adult bible study & discussion group that currently meets in Pastor Suzanne's office at 9:15 every Sunday has a new name and location!!!! We now meet in the conference room and answer to the name of Holy Java. Our name can have a couple of different meanings … our study will perk you up spiritually like an exceptional cup of coffee can perk you up physically! And for those of you that are computer geeks … we are called Holy Java because just like Java provides computer users with the underlying technology that powers state-of-the-art programs, our studies provide it's participants with necessary underlying Biblical truths that will help power their lives spiritually! Our group welcomes you … please join Holy Java!

Adult Bible Studies at FUMC

1. Sundays at 9:15am - Cornerstone Adult Bible Study meets in the Music Room (currently studying the Book of Daniel) lead by Rosemary Culbreath

2. Sundays at 9:15am - Holy Java meets in the Conference Room and is lead by Maria Dershem

3. Tuesdays at 10:00am - Adult Bible Study meets in Music Room (currently studying Jesus in the Gospel) lead by Pastor Suzanne

4. Wednesdays at 7:00pm - meets in the spring and fall for several weeks, following our 6:00 dinner & Wednesday service in the church Fellowship Hall  lead by Pastor Suzanne. Fall sessions of  Wonderful Wednesdays are now underway.

5. 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm - Women in Faith Bible Study meets in the Fellowship Hall (currently studying Women of the Bible) lead by Maria Dershem.

6. 4th Monday of every month at 7:00pm - United Methodist Men Bible Study meets in the Senior High room - studies change each month and  the men take turns leading them.

Sunday School - Regular Classes Have Begun

Sunday School is a fun and educational way to learn the Bible and what Christianity is all about.  Regular Sunday School classes will begin August 28th.

Classes run through the month of May.

Our 2 and 3 year old class meets in the room next to the Nursery.

Four year olds through 4th graders meet in the “KID CONNECTION” Gathering room, after which they separate into age appropriate stations

5th and 6th graders  meet for a Pre-teen Sunday school class that is specially designed for them in room 132.

Junior High youth meet in the “Jammers” room (room 130) and  Senior High youth meet in the “Couch” room (room 126).

The Cornerstone Class, a journey through the bible for adults of all ages , meets in the Music Room.

Holy Java- Various Bible Studies for adults of all ages - meets in the Conference Room.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY LEADERS!

As always, our Children’s Ministry is in need of leaders to help with the various programs we offer. If you are interested in helping a little or a lot to help us keep our growing ministry strong, please let Kim know (748-2612). Please contact Kim if you need more information on ways to serve.

Children in Church
We encourage youth aged 5th grade through 12th grade to attend worship on the first Sunday of the month. We will not hold Sunday school for these children on these Sundays because we feel very strongly that they should learn how to worship and should partake in Communion. We encourage all children to participate in worship at some point, even the youngest, but we will offer Sunday school for children ages 2 through 4th grade every Sunday. We understand that children may sometimes go to worship instead of Sunday School and we want them to do this. Therefore, we will honor attendance for the children whether they are in Sunday school or worship. Children just need to make sure they sign in at the check in station so we have a record of them. If a child visits another church due to traveling or going with friends, they can just bring a bulletin from the church they attended and they will receive “credit” for going. The purpose is to develop healthy habits of going to church and worshiping. J

Junior Church
Junior Church takes place on Sunday mornings during the 10:35 service. Children join their parents for worship until after the children’s moment, then go to children’s church with Miss Kim.

Nursery
Childcare is available for children under two during both Sunday church services and on the first and last Saturday evenings of the month.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer during the last two weeks of July we have Vacation Bible School. The first week takes place in the evening, from 6:00 - 8:30 PM, the second during the morning, from 9:00 - 11:30 AM. Both sessions fill up quickly because we have so much fun!
