Women In Faith – our women’s group

During the school year, our women’s group, Women in Faith, meets on one Saturday morning per month for coffee, donuts and a business meeting. The meetings are usually in the Fellowship Hall. The group sponsors several fund raisers during the year, including events such as the Cookie Walk and the Christmas Bazaar. Funds raised at these events help to support various charities, such as the food pantries in Springboro and Franklin, Interfaith Hospitality and Shoes for the Shoeless, and provide items as needed for the church. The group also sponsors a Bible Study that meets at 7:00 p.m.at the church on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. All women of the church are automatically members so you are welcome to come to all or any meetings as you choose.

The next meeting of Women in Faith meeting will be Saturday, March 3 at 9:00 in Fellowship Hall. We will make plans for helping our youth group with the Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, March 11. Ticket sales for the dinner will be held before and after services on the weekends of February 24/25 and March 3/4. WIF has been asked to take care of ticket sales and to provide cakes for 150 desserts. As usual, there will be brunch, coffee and tea at the meeting. We also want to thank everyone who contributed to the Cookie Walk fundraiser.  It was a big success and lots of fun for everyone.

WIF wants to thank the church for supporting their fundraisers which allows them to continue helping:

  • the food pantries for Easter meals,
  • Interfaith Hospitality for Christmas in July,
  • our youth for mission trips and church camp
  • UMCOR for disaster relief,
  • and funeral dinners (one of our most important missions).

In addition, WIF is able to continue its Friendship Circle mission of delivering homemade goodies to those in our church who are shut ins or have lost a loved one.  Finally, we hope to take on a few new projects, including donating funds towards the purchase of a new, improved sign for the church. Thank you for making all this possible.
