Chili Cook Off
Our annual Chili Cook off and Game Night was held in January at the church. Everyone enjoyed sampling the many types of chili, helping to choose the winners (taste and presentation), watching the awarding of prizes and playing board games after dinner. Many thanks to those who made this event so much fun by bringing in their crocks of chili and serving them from the cleverly decorated booths.
All Youth Bowl-a-Thon
Our annual All Youth Bowl-a-Thon was held in January. Our children and young people got together at the church for an afternoon of fun while raising funds for missions. Thanks to Kim Crosen and Brian Schlise for organizing this event.
Christmas Cantata
The Heavenly Host Choir presented their annual Christmas Cantata at services in December. These special services celebrating the great gift of Jesus through music included our choirs and also several church members of all ages who provided instrumental music.
Hanging of the Greens
The annual Hanging of the Greens was held in December beginning with a worship service on the Christian meaning of some of the symbols of the season and followed by a shared meal and then the decorating of the church for the Christmas season.
Breakfast with Santa and Holiday House
In December our waas Breakfast with Santa and Holiday House, a fun morning of pancakes, sausage, activities and a visit from the jolly old elf himself. Afterwards, the children enjoyed four hours of fun in our Holiday House where they experienced, explored and created as they moved through our “Winter Wonderland” theme. Santa was a big hit, as usual.
Church Bazaar
The Church bazaar, sponsored by Women in Faith and supported by so many of you ,was hard work, a lot of fun and very successful. Visitors began coming in the church doors at 9:00 and the Country Store, Grandma’s Attic and the Cafe were busy all day until the bazaar was over at 4:00. All the peanut brittle and buckeyes we worked so hard to make were sold. The cafe sold out of almost everything and people were seen all day happily taking home the treasures they found at Grandma’s. Our vendors were also very busy. Here are a few pictures of them taken by Mary Lynn Lawton, who coordinated our vendor activities this year.
Bibles for Our Children and a Party to Learn to Use Them
Children in third grade and older who had not yet received their Adventure Bibles received them on Sunday, November 18th, during first service (9:15 am). These children then joined Pastor Amy at 5:30 that evening for pizza and pop as they learned to use their new bibles. Please let the church office know if your child needs a bible.
